Warm weather means a lot of fun this summer at Maker House Co.!

One of the coolest new products at Maker House Co. in June was the 3-D Paper Sculpture kits by Low Poly Crafts (made in Ottawa) and this month we're hosting our first workshop with them!

On Sunday, July 17th, Low Poly Crafts will show you hands-on how to assemble their small sculptures, so you can have confidence in tackling the bigger projects at home. Choose between a paper heart or snail. All supplies provided, limited spots available, so please register to join us.

Fri. July 29th: Bike Love summer social

We’re hosting a party from 5-9pm on July 29th to celebrate the simple beauty and style of the bicycle. The night includes free beer samples with Bicycle Craft Brewery, new handmade leather bike accessories, a demo of Right Bike's new affordable city bike, along with live music, and a slide-show of bike styles new and old courtesy of style blog XO VELO.

This event is FREE to attend, and anyone who bikes to the shop (just show us your bikehelmet to prove it) gets 10% off all regular priced merch in store that night! Check out the details on the . Remember to log your bike purchases at .

#CraftChange: $2,302 Donation to Right Bike

So far our amazing customers have helped us donate to the , and , with 2% of all sales going to these local non-profit partners through our  program.

Our most recent partner was , and we're proud to announce a $2,302 donation going to Right Bike this month. It will help them continue to run great community programs, like bike mechanic training for vulnerable individuals, and a community bike share/rental service that is unique to Ottawa.

They also have DIY drop-in bike repair nights at their shop, which is just down the road from us in Hintonburg. We heart Right Bike, so thanks for helping them!

Our next #CraftChange partner is , with money from July-Sept. going to support their campaign to grow our city's canopy, by protecting and promoting trees in Ottawa.
